The Collective, After Holiday Sigh

Written by Susan

Did you hear that great collective sigh? That was everyone breathing a sigh of relief that the Holidays are over. Congratulations…you survived them…go ahead pat yourself on the back. You deserve it. The Holidays can stress anyone. I hope you survived them somewhat intact.

Congratulations! You Survived!

Did you get new tools for the Holidays?
Perhaps now is the time to put new tools in place, or dust off some long forgotten ones you had. It’s time to prepare for the New Year and do more than just survive it this time. These tools can help you cope with stressful situations, help you make better decisions in your life or just help you understand better why you do or don’t do certain things. Of course that’s assuming you want to know these things. Being along for the ride can be fine…for a while. And after a while you deciding the direction your life’s going to go in is better than leaving it up to other people…in my opinion.

Pretty Shinies!!!
So now’s the time to take your tools out of their pretty shiny box they’ve been in and begin to use them. Tools are useless when bright and shiny, sitting in a tool box. They aren’t meant to be locked away unused or only taken out in an emergency, like when visiting the in-laws. Tools get better with use so don’t be afraid to take them out of the box, ding them up a bit and take some shine off them.

Tools are useless unless they’re used.

When you constantly use the tools you have at hand they become incorporated into your life and being and you don’t need to stop, open the box, rummage around to see what’s there, decide the proper tool to use, take it out and then surprise after doing all this the opportunity’s gone. Now we play the coulda, shoulda, woulda game that makes you a victim reacting to a situation rather than being proactive and taking charge.

So…need to brush up on those tools you already have? Need to get a bigger tool box or new tools to handle those situations where you don’t know what to do? We at NextStage Expanded Awareness can help. Sorry for the advertising, but take advantage of our years of practice and tools and let us help you make the New Year one of ACTION instead of REACTION! There are, of course, other places to get tools. Where ever you get the tools you need, it’s important to get those tools and then learn how to use them.
